The Classic Copper™️ urn is a mottled copper + dark brown color with a subtle shimmer in the lighter areas. The sun brings out extra shimmer and red tones (image # 4) in this unique glaze. The urn is the perfect size for a child or pet weighing up to 50 lbs. It was handmade on a potter's wheel and brush glazed. The lid finial adds a refined sophistication.
The glaze, while not actual copper, is reminiscent of the ore -- the third most common trace mineral in our bodies. Copper is also associated with healing properties, purification, and grounding of energy.
Our new Classic Urns™️ collection is a collaboration between Laura & studio member Nic. Inspired by ancient Chinese & Japanese ceramics and the Mediterranean palette, the collection features vibrant & multi-layered glazes that accentuate the clean, elegant lines of the urns. Each urn is made on a potter's wheel, brush glazed, and fired in an electric kiln.
